USGBCWith the industry and the world conscious of green and sustainable design and construction, so too is Breslin Builders. No matter where you look, sustainable design and construction is becoming a way of life and a driving force in the way business is being conducted. Our goal has always been to provide the best possible project for our clients including an energy efficiency building and an environment that meets the needs of the end users, while still be cognizant of the project budget.

Over the years our projects tend to exceed the code requirements for energy efficiency. Where applicable and in conjunction with our Owner’s commitment, we will be meeting the requirements of the USGBC LEED program requirements furthering our commitment to a sustainable and environmental friendly community. We realize that not all of our projects will fall into or allow for a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, but our commitment to including elements of these programs into our projects will continue.

In addition to our design practices, we are working to provide a smaller impact on the environment by adjusting our construction methods. We have partnered with Nevada Construction Clean Up and ALL of our construction sites are equipped with recycling dumpster where ALL the construction debris is sorted off-site allowing for a high percentage (80% or more anticipated) that can be diverted from the local land fills. Additionally, Breslin Builders’ office provides recycling opportunities for our old plans and other documents and waste. These are just two of the ways Breslin Builders is helping lessen our environmental impact.

One of our projects “LEEDing” the way is the Durango Office Building Two, which was awarded LEED Silver level as part of the LEED Core & Shell CS v2.0 rating program. Breslin Builders provided in-house design services on this 56,305 square foot two-story core and shell office building. Breslin Builders was the general contractor and we also provided LEED Administrator services for the project, overseeing the various aspects of the LEED certification process.

Breslin Builders is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Additionally, Todd McBrayer, Director of Design, is a member of the local USGBC Nevada Chapter and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
